Bro I know I'm necroposting, but if you want to try more fun Krieg builds (and play on PC) without heavily modding the game the UCP+BL2fix is the way. UCP balances his scaling (including Light the Fuse) and is modular, so you can just disable the ones that you feel too OP, and BL2fix just makes general BL2 experience smoother.

Krieg gives a lot of physical dmg, and you will have more than aether at the end, but still a bit wierd. If you have some particular builds in mind, look at items closely, maybe they use conversions. It looks like it works with Leviathan weapon converting cold and vit to phys. Probably not with other weapons.
